- 학년말 여러 수상 소식과 졸업학년인 #year6 는 근처 중학교인 #썸머빌인터 와 하윅인터 를 방문한다고 전하고 있습니다.
- 여름이 와서 학교 샌들과 모자를 착용하라는 안내가 있고,
- 파켄세이브, 뉴월드, 포스퀘어 등에서 야미 사과를 사서 스티커를 모아 학교 스포츠복을 추첨하는 이번트 등의 소개가 있습니다.
- 트래블와이즈 모니터들이 다음 한 주 동안 로드세이프티 주간이라고 합니다. 등하교 안전을 돌보는 시스템입니다. 주니어, 미들, 시니어 로 팀을 나누어 투표를 해서 상을 준다고 하네요.
- 도서관 소식이있고,
- 텀4 매주 금요일 마다 아이스바를 나눠주는 행사도 있다고 합니다.
이제 보타니다운즈 프라이머리 에서 운영 중인 여러 제도에 대해 설명드리겠습니다.
1. #하우스리더 #HOUSE_LEADERS
- 최고 학년인 6학년이 맡는 역할로 배튼, 브레이크, 힐러리, 쉐퍼드 하우스 를 대표하는 12명의 리더들입니다.
각 하우스는 각각의 고유 색을 갖고 모든 학년이 나뉘어 구성됩니다.
Year 6 children who express an interest in becoming a House Leader complete an application form, are given problem-solving tasks and
attend a group interview. Teachers then have the tricky task of narrowing down and selecting 12 deserving students from a large group of worthy candidates.
Botany Downs School fosters ‘BEST’ values of Belief,
Excellence, Skills and Thoughtfulness and the House Leaders endeavour to lead their Houses with these values in mind.

2. #피어메디에이터 #PEER_MEDIATORS
보타니다운즈 프라이머리에서는 친구들간의 문제를 해결하고 도와주는 피어메디에이터 제도가 있어 #WITS, WalkAway, Ignore, TalkItOut, SeekHelp 를 실천하고 있습니다. '#ToolBox ', 학부모상담및 교육의 기본인 #툴박스 에 근거한 문제해결방식입니다.
Meet the Peer Mediators for 2019:
The WITS programme is designed to help school children develop and use a ‘toolbox’ for when they have issues with other students.
At Botany Downs School, we have a group of students who help in the playground. They are our Peer Mediators and they work with students to use their WITS.
3. 등교전, 방과후, 방학 돌봄 시스템
1) BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE
- sKids 라는 기관에서 맡아 진행하는 프로그램입니다.
- 아침 7시 30분 시작, 8시 30분에 각자 교실로 갑니다.
- 아침 식사 포함, 게임과 액티비티 등을 합니다.
- 방과후는 오후 3시 시작, 저녁 6시에 마칩니다.
- 간식 포함, 학교 숙제 시간 포함, 게임, 액티비티 등을 합니다.

Year 5 students from BDS visit Camp Adair annually as part of the EOTC (education outside the classroom) programme. They are challenged in teams as well as individually and return to school with a whole new set of skills! This is highlight of every student’s time at BDS.

6. #이어6 #캠프벤존 YEAR 6 – CAMP BENTZON
- 초등학교 졸업반인 이어6 가 되면 캠프벤존 에 참여하게 됩니다. 덴마크 출신 뉴질랜드 이민자인 벤존이 카와우 섬에 기부형식으로 마련한 캠프 시설로 뉴질랜드의 대부분의 학교에서 이용하고 있습니다.

8. 워킹스쿨버스 WALKING SCHOOL BUS
- 학부모 자원봉사자들과 학생들이 팀을 이루어 학교 등하교 시 걸어다니는 학생들을 '버스스탑' 으로 지정된 장소까지 데려다 주고 데리고 오는 역할을 합니다.
- 등하교 안전을 학부모님들의 도움으로 학생들 스스로 지키는 역할입니다.
What is a Walking School bus?
It’s an organised group of children who walk to and from school along a designated route, under the supervision of adult volunteers. Children are ‘picked up’ and ‘dropped off’ at specific walking school bus ‘bus stops’.
Walking School Buses (WSBs) reduce the number of cars on the road, making our environment safer and cleaner, and they provide exercise for kids in a fun and social way.
WSBs are owned and operated by volunteer parents and caregivers, and supported by the school and Auckland Transport.
It is a great way for childern to learn road safety, meet new people, and have fun and exercise! Same also for the adults!
For parents it also means children are getting to and/or from school safely, and you save on petrol costs!
We would love to get more children, and parents, walking to and from school.
